Beskrivning:Tenorsaxofonisten George Adams hade meriter från Charles Mingus band och på 1980-talet samarbetade han med pianisten Don Pullen i ett av jazzens då hetaste band. Det här albumet är inspelat strax innan det samarbetet inleddes, med en kvintett bestående av Ron Burton p, Don Pate b, Al Foster dr och Azzedin Weston slagverk.

Unfortunately, as is the case here, he sometimes participated in contexts that didn't quite match the quality of his performances. Here, he's backed by a decent and sympathetic (if not always inspiring) rhythm section, and some of the tunes -- such as the tear-jerking "Send in the Clowns" -- are near perfect....Elsewhere, there's a sense of spontaneity that borders on informality, but Adams is excellent throughout."
